Therapist, Founder & CEO:
Miqveh Steinhart, LICSW
she/her
I am a clinical social worker licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA and my Master's degree in Social Work from Boston College in Boston, MA. I also have a certificate in Conflict Management from Pepperdine University's School of Law, Straus Institute. I have a wide range of experience working with adults with various mental health challenges which includes a few years of experience working at Mclean Hospital providing services to clients all over the hospital struggling with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, psychosis, mood disorders, and substance use.
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety related to complicated life transitions, stressors related to work/school, self-esteem concerns, and relationship issues. I help people struggling to find their balance or prioritize themselves in complex situations while tackling issues that come up such as perfectionism, indecision, fear of failure or judgment and/or social pressure from loved ones. I look forward to building an authentic connection with each person I work with.
I utilize a collaborative approach, providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to be able to openly express themselves and work through challenges that may be interfering with them reaching their goals. My clinical approach integrates a range of evidence-based practice methods (cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices, etc). I believe every individual has their own unique purpose as found through the journey of exploring one's values, assessing one's strengths and the process of navigating life's challenges.
Therapist: Matt Clements
he/him
My name is Matt Clements and I am a Masters Level Clinician with experience as a licensed School Social Worker and Adjustment Counselor in Massachusetts. I am currently pursuing my Licensed Mental Health Counselor credential in Massachusetts as well. My various educational and work experiences have led me to my passion for partnering with clients as they work towards their therapeutic goals.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Linguistics from Columbia University, as well as a Master’s in Education in Prevention Science and Practice and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Adolescent Counseling both from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have experience working with people, specifically adolescents and young adults, from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and sexualities. I enjoy working with clients who are exploring the intersections of their identities and the broader social contexts that shape their experiences. I have supported clients struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, mood disorders, and acculturative and post-traumatic stress.
In my sessions, I prioritize building a caring and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients so that they feel comfortable reflecting on their own stories and exploring ways to move towards the life outcomes they desire. I utilize reflective therapeutic approaches (narrative therapy techniques and journaling, for example), as well as more directive approaches (cognitive-behavioral therapy, solutions-focused therapy) depending on my clients’ needs. I also provide psychoeducation on the therapeutic process and support my clients in practicing coping skills and mindfulness techniques.
